A.            Both late sleeper and early risers find the fixed hour of nine-to-five work day a problem. Now there is an answer that seems to please them both. Employees of over500 businesses, organizations and government agencies in the Untied States are adapting their work hours to suit their individual needs. It’s called “flexible time” (flextime) and it means, for example, that employees can start working at any time during the first three hours their office is opened and leave after completing their required daily working time. Early risers can begin work at seven a.m., finish at three and still have daylight time for shopping, picking up children at school, or recreation. B.            With interest in exotic pets on the rise, some people have gone into the business of breeding wild animals in captivity, claiming not just to make money from them but to protect them from extinction as well. However, animals bred in captivity are often infirm and genetically inferior because of inbreeding or confinement. If well-intentioned but misguided people set them loose in the wild, the best thing that can happen is for them to die off before they can mate with their cousins in the wild and spoil the genetic pool. As a matter of fact, nobody wants all animals to become domesticated. If we really olove animals, the best thing we can do for them is to nature sanctuaries are well managed, we can go there and see the animals in a more “natural” situation, which should be next best to being in the wild.
